National and Global Health and Awareness Campaigns
Sunlight Group Practice supports a range of national and global health awareness campaigns throughout the year. These campaigns aim to raise awareness, share reliable information, and signpost patients to advice and support on a wide range of health and wellbeing topics.
At the beginning of each month, we will:
- Send a single text message to patients to highlight the campaigns we are supporting that month with a link to this page for further information.
- Highlight selected national campaigns that are relevant to our patient population.
- Add further information, resources, and links to help you find out more about current campaigns.
- Share the same campaigns and resources to our social media channels.

Key symptoms include persistent changes in bowel habits, blood in stool, and abdominal pain.
If youâve had a #BowelCancer testing kit through the post, donât forget to send it back. Your next poo could save your life. Find out more: nhs.uk/bowel

World Autism Acceptance Month
This month focuses on promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion rather than just awareness. The theme for 2026 is “Autism and Humanity â Every Life Has Value,” emphasizing dignity.
More than one in 100 people are autistic and there are at least 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK. Autism influences how people experience and interact with the world. It is a lifelong neurodivergence and disability.
Led by organisations like National Autistic Society, they offer free toolkits for workplaces, schools and individuals to learn about and support autistic people.
âShowing up can look like taking little steps to understand someoneâs experience of the world. Allowing time for them to process or space for them to regulate. Shifting your expectations and making it clear thatâs okay. Advocating for autistic colleagues in the workplace and the world. There are so many simple, everyday ways you can make a huge difference while helping to build a kinder, more supportive world for everyone.â â National Autistic Society.
